Health Center Board Member Marotta-Brinton Honored For Immediate Release: Monday, May 6, 2002-PLAINFIELD, NEW JERSEY- The Plainfield Health Center, one of thirteen Federally Qualified Health Centers in New Jersey, dedicated to providing cost effective primary health care services for the residents of Plainfield and surrounding communities, announced the recognition of Board Member, Antonia Marotta-Brinton as one of the distinguished women executives and Board Members honored by Executive Women of New Jersey. With this award, Ms. Marotta-Brinton is honored as one of the leading business women of 2002. Ms. Marotta-Brinton is the co-founder and former co-director of Lean Line, Inc., a noted authority on weight loss and control since 1968. Ms. Marotta-Brinton is also known for her cable television program "Willpower Quarter Hour" and two books, Diet Cybernetics for Lean Lines, and One Month Lighter. After retiring in 1995, she joined the Board of Directors of United Trust, the Plainfield Health Center, as well as the boards of United Family and Children's Society, and the Henry H. Kessler Foundation. She is a graduate of Thomas Edison State College and was most recently recognized with the Spirit of Edison Award as a Distinguished Alumni in 2001. "It gives me great pleasure to recognize such a committed, dedicated, generous individual," said Julane Miller-Armbrister, President and CEO of Plainfield Health Center. "Ms. Marotta-Brinton has been a true champion of our mission, and her spirit and friendship been a significant part of our Board's success and the Center's ability to insure access to primary care for our community." Ms. Marotta-Brinton has served on the Plainfield Health Center Board for six years. "I am delighted to be part of this organization and it is extremely rewarding to volunteer my time for such a worthwhile effort," said Antonia Marotta-Brinton. "I am amazed by the work and dedication of these Board and Staff professionals, and the difference we collectively make in the lives of the 17,000 patients that the Center serves. I am very grateful to have been nominated by an organization that I so deeply respect." About The Plainfield Health Center The Plainfield Health Center, incorporated as the Plainfield Neighborhood Health Services Corporation, was born in 1969 under the auspices of the 1960's Model Cities Neighborhood Program. Led by a dedicated group of community activists, the Center was initially created to provide accessible health care to the residents of the West End of Plainfield. Since then, the Center
has grown, added more services, increased the number of specialties of
professional health staff, and expanded its reach to the entire City of
Plainfield and neighboring communities. Today, the Plainfield Health Center
serves more than 17,000 patients annually. Its total care program provides
adult medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, adolescent medicine,
school based services, dentistry and ancillary support services. |
