RUDINE SMITH, PRESIDENT AND CEO OF PLAINFIELD NEIGBORHOOD HEALTH SERVICES CORPORATION HONORED BY EXECUTIVE WOMEN OF NEW JERSEY

March 3, 2006- On May 4, 2006 Rudine Smith, President and CEO of Plainfield Neighborhood Health Services Corporation will be honored at the Executive Women of New Jersey’s “Salute to the Policy Makers” Awards Dinner. EWNJ is the State’s premier organization for senior-level women.

Every other year, the organization sponsors its “Salute to Policy Makers Dinner”. This event has showcased some of the most prominent organizations and their Chief Executive Officers and has given the venue and opportunity to acknowledge the achievements of women in their companies and on their boards. The dinner also raises money for the Graduate Scholarship Program. Since 1986, over $600,000 has been given to more than 200 women and is the only organization in the State of New Jersey that provides funds to women for advanced degrees.

“I have had the privilege of working for Ms. Smith when she was the PNHSC Chief Operating Officer, and I now serve as one of her executive officers. I can attest that Ms. Smith is an extremely capable, talented, and visionary leader, who sets the stage, and then empowers and encourages her staff to perform to their maximum. As a father with three daughters, I recognize the fact that Ms. Smith is an excellent professional role model for them”, stated A. Eugene Baucum, Jr., PNHSC Vice President and Business Development Officer.

Ms. Smith brings more than twenty years of experience in a variety of industries including government, healthcare, education and financial services to her role as CEO of PNHSC. Before taking on the demanding role of President and CEO, Ms. Smith co-founded Tiger Medical Systems, Acquisition Company, Inc. where she developed business and financial plans, evaluated acquisition targets, consulting services, products and more. Prior to founding RS Associates Ms. Smith was Acting Chief Operating Officer and Business Administrator/Acting Director an Operations Manager of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey, a $3 billion health insurance company. She was the Metropolitan and Regional Branch Manager of two major home health agencies in the Tri-state area: Staff Building Inc. and Temporary Nursing Services. Ms. Smith received a Masters degree in Public Administration from Rutgers University and her degree in Allied Health from Montclair State College.

This is just one more reason that validates the selection of Ms. Smith as our President and Chief Executive Officer. We are all extremely proud of her accomplishments at the Health Center and in the community,” responded Health Center Board Chairman Siddeeq W. El-Amin.


Upon receiving the letter from the Executive Women of New Jersey as one of the 2006 honorees “Salute to The Policy Makers,” Ms. Smith commented, “I was very humbled by the nomination and extremely proud to be among such a distinguished list of accomplished honorees both past and present.”
