PLAINFIELD NEIGHBORHOOD HEALTH SERVICES CORPORATION HOSTS ANNUAL HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE

Plainfield, NJ, December 20, 2005- On Thursday, December 15, 2005, the Plainfield Health Center/E-Port Community Health Center held its annual Holiday Open House for its friends, supporters, affiliates and donors at the main site 1700 Myrtle Avenue, Plainfield, New Jersey from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The Open House began with a cocktail reception in the atrium followed by the serving of international foods, which were strategically stationed throughout the center. The North Jersey Philharmonic Glee Club, as well as the guitarist, Mr. Joe Bonini and a pianist, Kimberly Raymond provided musical entertainment to the packed atrium filled with guests that were in attendance.

“The Annual Open House gives us an opportunity to recognize and thank our many friends, business affiliates and funding sources for their support throughout the past year,” said Rudine Smith, President/CEO. She continued by saying “the attendance was great, given the inclement weather conditions. This is a testament of the dedicated support that the center continues to have from its supporters, family and friends.”

Plainfield Neighborhood Health Services Corporation operates the Plainfield Health Center, The Healthy Place, Cardinal Health Center and E-Port Community Health Center. The center is an ambulatory care facility now serving more than 22,200 patients annually. The services provided include: adult medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, school based services, dentistry and ancillary support services.

In attendance, Mr. and Mrs. Joe and Jacky Harvest, friends of the center who have participated in the annual Golf Tournament and volunteered on the annual Gala committee enjoyed the reception and spoke about the importance of ongoing support for the center and giving back to the community.

Oliver Bartlett, Plainfield Health Center Board Member Emeritus spoke words of good tidings and said, “Every year good people gather to share the holidays festivities together and the ability to come together is what good health is all about.”

Plainfield’s Mayor-elect Sharon Robinson Briggs and Barbara James (represented Assemblyman Gerald B. Green’s office,) a member of the Plainfield Planning Board acknowledged The Plainfield Neighborhood Health Services Corporation and the positive impact it has made on the health status of the community and to the citizens of Plainfield.

“The open house is a wonderful way to open the center to supporters and friends,” said Plainfield Neighborhood Health Services Corporation board member and Marketing Chairwoman, Julie A. Jerome. “Having access to the facility and services enables the community to embrace the center and receive the quality care it deserves,” she concluded.
